Launch of Oslofjord Triennale

01/22/2024

Many thanks to everyone who joined us for a very successful launch of the Oslofjord Triennial 2024 at KULTURYTRING 2023 in Drammen

The Oslofjord Triennial was presented by its initiators, Linn Cecilie Ulvin, Vibeke Hermanrud, Franzisca Aarflot, Kristin Bergaust, and Sidsel Aas (Camilla Dahl was unfortunately unable to attend).
Additionally, the launch featured a conversation with Louise Valestrand from the Norwegian Institute for Water Research (NIVA), who was also interviewed live on NRK P2/Studio 2 regarding the state of the Oslofjord. Artist and marine landscape architect Elin Sørensen spoke about the strengths of cross-disciplinary collaboration, where art and science complement each other when communicating the current condition of the Oslofjord.

The launch concluded with two art projects. In Drammen, the audience was invited to listen to the voice of the Oslofjord through underwater sound streamed live from a sailboat drifting with the wind and weather. The artists behind the work are Christian Blom (composer and sound artist), Bjarne Kvinnsland (composer, producer, and electronic artist), and Kristin Bergaust.

Following this, a performative meal took place in the Oslofjord at Berger, outside Drammen, organized by Vann-Kraft, artistically led by Suzie Davies and Mattias Ekholm from the dance company DEED, in collaboration with sound artist Thomas Bergsten and scenographer Mari LB Kamsvaag.

Special thanks for the financial support from Viken County Council and the Arts and Culture Norway (Kulturdirektoratet).

In connection with the launch of the Oslofjord Triennial during Kulturytring Drammen in June this year, VannKraft, artistically led by Suzie Davies and Mattias Ekholm from the dance company DEED in collaboration with sound artist Thomas Bergsten and scenographer Mari LB Kamsvaag, invited the public to a performative meal in the Oslofjord.
